It looks like the Type-S is about $4,500 over the standard Acura TL. Is taht price fair or could you do it cheaper with after market parts?

What does Acura add for this price?

Thanks,

I can tell you what is added on the Canadian TYPE-S.

17"x8' Exclusive aluminum alloy wheels.
^^these would cost $1700 to buy
6-speed Manual transmission.
Brembo 4 piston front brake calipers.
Red Cabin and footwell ambient lighting.
Quad Exhaust Finishers.
3.5 litre 24 valve,SOHC,VTEC compared to 3.2 litre 24 valve SOHC VTEC
286hp@6200 rpm compared to 258hp@6200 rpm
Active Noise Cancellation.
Limited slip differential.
Acura Navigationwith voice recognition, rearview camera and illuminated steering wheel mounted controls.

And I think that about covers the differences.

I don't think you would be able to do all of the above cheaper with aftermarket or better.

I don't know if this is the same as the American version so maybe someone could chime in.

If you've got to have a manual (I do) then it's the cost of entry.

Wow you can get a 6 speed in the Type S? That is sweet. I would think that a performance version of any car should be about that much more than the base model.

My 2006 TL has a 6 speed manual, limited slip, brmbo package, traction control, Navi system and everything that the TL S has .

I only wished I had the 4 exhaust tips tho. those are bad asssss.
