"Sports Car Market" is an excellent automotive magazine and Keith Martin, the founder & publisher, has done a remarkable job with it over the years. Unfortunately Mr. Martin holds the NSX in low esteem relative to other sports cars / exotics and has said so in past articles. Another case in point is contained in the latest October issue. In the letters section a gentleman writes of the virtues of his NSX and ask Keith for his take. While he acknowledges the input of the late Ayrton Senna and extols the virtues, he still can not accept it on a par with other "exotics". He attributes the shortcommings of the NSX as never having captured the imagination of the marketplace. He feels the styling is "uninspired" and the car lacks a certain mystic because they are simply too reliable. To add further insult, as an investment vehicle he gives it a "D".
On a positive note he does agree that in terms of performance value per dollar the NSX is a brilliant choice...plus he includes a photo for the benefit of anyone who has never seen this engineering marvel.
Fortunately another little publication - "Car & Driver" - thought more of it when they said that for a daily driver exotic, it can not be beat - period! I like that assessment better...
I once read - "The NSX is what a Ferrari would have been if their engineers had gone to college."
