I've been running SCCA autocrosses since 1989. Its a blast, but I have not done it in a while. It is the best way to learn what your car will do, all while in a safe environment. Theres an autocross in Atlanta on Oct 7th, I'm going to check it out!! Anyone else like autcrossing?

I would really like to get into Autocrossing. Unfortunately, for this OCt. 7th I can't due to my brother's wedding on the same day...don't think he would understand :D

Although I have loved sports cars since a teenager, I never had any experience with autocrossing. Then a couple of years ago as a spectator I attended one with my son-in-law. Now he is an avid autocrosser and quite good at it.
He had a new Lotus Elise and wanted to put it to the test and did so very well. During one of the runs he offered me his seat to give it a go...and I did...and not very successful. Frankly I could not dicipher ANY route! He kept saying to head towards where the cones are pointing, but it meant absolutely nothing to me. Maybe autocrossing is something you have to do severa times to get the hang of it.
If I remember correctly he was credited with both the fastest time and the slowest - thanks to my drive.

Mine first - don't mind the pink NSX rims - they're track only!

That's moving out for a relatively full size car...with an auto tranny.

Fortunately, I roasted the AT during that autox so I have good reason to pull the 5spd swap since I have the MT in my garage! Should be even quicker next season...
