Hood Latch

1998 Acura Integra. The hood latch isn't releasing when I pull the handle. It's feels as if there is slack in the cable, but it isn't broken. Should I put some vice grips on the cable and pull or what?? Randy

Are you sure it isn't broken?It could have let go at the lock or the handle.

I actually stock this part because they do break.Take a closer look at both ends.Possibly it's the hood lock itself and not the cable.....might just need some lube.You should be able to get it open with vice grips but that may only work a few times.
