For those of us who are neither nocturnal nor own a TIVO, qualifying for this weekends Formula One of Japan occured last night / this morning. Hamilton made a last minuit drive to barely take pole from his teammate Alonso making it an all McLaren-Mercedes front row. Kimi Raikkonen held third followed by his teammate Massa for an all Ferrari second row. The only somewhat shinning spot for Honda was Button who managed to get into sixth. The other Honda related drivers were Barrichello with a dismal 17th followed by Davidson in his Super Aguri Honda at 18th. Sato in the other Super Aguir "held on" to 20th.

Weather conditions are considered very unsettled and could lead to a very exciting race - for a change.

The Grand Prix of Japan will be televised live on SpeedTV at 12:30 A.M. Saturday but if you miss it and can wait for the results it will be re-broadcast Sunday at a more reasonable time of 4:30 P.M.
