While I certainly firmly believe that the Japanese in general and Acura / Honda in particuliar make among the world's best built cars, there is something to be said for other builders too. Although many Italian cars have a reputation, perhaps deserved, for being somewhat "tempermental", they also tend to have an air of mystique.
Here is your chance to experience the mystique up close and personal if you happen to live in the Atlanta area. Saturday, October 14th is Italian Car Day with the celebration taking place at Kurt's Restaurant in Duluth Georgia. As in past years expect to see the full assortment of Italian made cars from the obligatory Ferrari to Alfa's, Pantera's, Fiat's, Lancia's and others. The festivities run form 10:00 to 3:00.
In a somewhat related event, the next day there will be a drive to the North Georgia mountains also sponsored by the Ferrari Club, but other non-Italian cars are welcome.
For information on both evants call (770) 623-4128.

* An aside note - Two years ago I did this drive with the Ferrari Club, being the lone NSX at the time, and was fortunate enough to follow a beautiful Testarossa. I had the top off and the sounds and smells emanating from the Ferrari were sensual. After about an hour and a half we made a stop and the Ferrari owner checked his oil. He had burned two quarts of oil from the time we left! When I questioned him about it he explained that all things taken into consideration that was not unexpected and besides it held I believe he said 12 quarts. Good thing!
