It seems that Maserati & Chrysler are considering another union - a luxury SUV. Did we not learn anything from the Chrysler TC?

P.S. - Earlier this week the check engine light came on in my Maserati. Yesterday I took it to Ferrari - Maserati of Atlanta to check it out. Seems somewhere in the past it showed a code for a faulty temperature sensor and brake sensor. The parts are $36.14 and $24.82 respectively plus $25.00 in coolent. The labor is $475.00!!! Also my fuel cap insert seems to have separated and a new cap needed. It is $124.51 cost as it is billet aluminum! I didn't ask the labor to install the cap. This would never happen with an NSX!

According to an article in the March 21, 2011 issue of Autoweek CEO Sergio Marchionne of Fiat, current owner of Maserati, has given the green light to move forward on an SUV in the Maserati lineup. He says "the future SUV will take Maserati to areas of the automobile market that will significantly expand our reach."

He further stated "the Maserati SUV could ride on a Jeep platform."

Ouch!

While I readily admit to possessing very little automotive marketing knowledge to me, this has failure written all over it. But time will tell. I was skeptical of a Porsche SUV and look at those sales.
