The first Acura dealership outside of North America recently opened in China. Only the RL and TL will be sold and 3000 total units are expected in the market the first year. Based upon reception in the marketplace, ten additional dealerships are anticipated to open within the first year.
In a related story, the first Acura dealership was expected to open in Japan the third quarter of 2008, but has been delayed due to a domestically week and competitive market.
The U.S. market and the Acura brand as it's upscale line remains an intergral part of Honda's world wide growth target.
