While going through am many, many NSX related magazines I was re-reading a "Car & Driver" issue from July, 1995. The lead story is a shootout among five supercars of the day. Test are performed between our beloved NSX-T, Ferrari F-355, Porsche 911 Turbo, Lotus Esprit S4S and Dodge Viper.

I have driven four of these vehicles: I owned two '95 NSX's; many times drove the F355 which my daughter owned; she also had a 911 turbo, and drove a friends Viper. Although I have driven Lotus Esprits, not the S4S version.

My unofficial impressions are:
* Ferrari - Love the sound , looks, smell and everything about it - except maintence. With 22k miles she had a major service performed by Ferrari of Atlanta. On the F355 that means an engine out service to the tune of $15,000!
* Porsche - Great driver, nice interior & super sound. However to me, the looks - even turbo version- are dated. JMO.
* Viper - Powerful, but kind of cheesy interior and to me cartoon look.
* Lotus - Impressive name, wedgy look, difficult to ingress & egress, not finished interior look - but fun car.
* NSX - Unbelievable dailly drive exotic!

Anyway, in the test, here were the results:
* Fifth Place = Lotus
* Fourth Place = Viper
* Third Place = Ferrari
* Second Place = NSX
* First Place = Porsche

Good article, the only problem is that the best car didn't win.
