For several years now Acura has implemented a marketing arrangement with the famous resort in N.C. called Pinehurst. The promotion is special pricing on accommodations and golf, plus the opportunity to test drive an Acura.
I tried to scan the sheet detailing what is called "The Acura Golf Experience", but for some reason it will not scan very well. Much background clutter, etc.
Essentially for rates vary due to season from $632 to $998 per person. For that you receive 2 nights + 3 rounds of golf + breakfast & dinner for 2 days and a few misc. items, dozen golf balls , spa discounts and more. You also receive a choice of either: Titleist driver / up-graded golf to their premium course / $300 gift card.
All-in-all, to me it sounds overpriced, although I am probably not the target demographic for Pinehurst. I have no idea of how much money Acura pays for this arrangement, but I imagine it not to be cheap. Frankly I think advertising money could be better spent.
Speaking of Acura and its advertising budget - For years Acura has sponsored the pre-race show for each Formula One race. When the NSX was a hot vehicle (it still is, but I am referring to hot as in hot in the market) every Acura commercial was about one of their other cars, and not about the NSX. To me I think folks viewing the F1 race would tend to me the type more interested in a high performance sports car rather than say, an SUV. Just my viewpoint...
