Those of my generation who remember the very popular television program "Hawaii Five-O", or yournger folks who catch it on Nick At Night, never considered the origin of the show's title. I am a fairly curious sort, but did not think about the siginficance of the title.
Soooo the question is, what does it stand for?
And the answer is...
Hawaii was our 50th State, hence the name "Hawaii Five-O"...and now you know. There is a little known "fact" that there was a pilot about gold mining called "Alaska Four-Nine", but it never got off the ground. O.K., that is a lie, but you never know...
