Hard to believe, but the rotary Wankel engine turns 40! It was and still is a radical divergence from the traditional piston engine all of us know and love. It has claimed many engineering acolades and Mazda has made a pretty good living off of it.
I personally have had absolutely no experience with the Wankel so I only know what I know by what I read, but most knowledgeable auto experts give it a thumbs up.
Any forum members very familiar with the Wankel, and if so what are your impressions?
