I've just discovered a product called "Miltec1" and curious if any forum members are familiar with it and if so what is their opinion. While listening to an auto talk show on XM the subject of Miltec1 was discussed and both show host were very high on it.
What is Miltec1? According to their web site it is a clear golden synthetic liquid resembling SAE-10 motor oil, but is not an oil additive - even though you do add it to the crankcase. It has no viscosity nor does it augment the oil in the normal sense, but is considered a dry impregnated lubricant. It is a metal conditioner and according to test it reacts to the metal surface and is absorbed by the metal to "stiffen" the surface. According to substantiated independent test using this product increased fuel economy, improves performance, reduces emissions and enhances reliability.
O.K., to me it does sound like snake oil in a bottle. However, the car show host say both of them use it with excellent results. One did caution against using it for a vehicle still under warranty so as not to compromise your warranty. Frankly that scares me a bit and would feel more comfortable with it had that statement not been made.
Susposedly it is used by the military and law enforcement and their web site contains multiple testimonials - for whatever that is worth. So my question is, have any forum members had first hand experience with this product and if so with what results?
Their web site is www.miltec1.com. This post is neither a commercial nor an endorsement, but is to find information about the product. Thanks for any input you may have.
