Today we drove my wife's 2005 MDX from Atlanta to Findley, Ohio. It was how do you say "well packed" and not exactly lightly on its feet...or in this case tires. We averaged 20.8 MPG for the trip and that included traveling at a rather brisk clip. How does that compare with other MDX owners experiences?
Two additional points about the trip are first, I paid the highest price per gallon for gas since my last trip to Europe. It was $3.549 / gallon at a Sunoco in Ohio. They sure thought a lot of their gas. I think it was a combination of their proximity to the expressway, the holiday, recent OPEC increases and some price gouging greed thrown in for good measure.
The second point is that we were following our daughter's family and they were driving a Cadillac Escalade. According to the trip computer they were getting almost the same mileage as our MDX. That was a surprise to me.
