Forbes List Of The 20 Most Dangerous Cars

Forbes, a respected publication known for its various list, has released what they feel to be the 20 most dangerous cars on the road. In preparing the list they consider a wide variety of factors, including side impact, stbility & rollover risk and is short real world safety. With that in mind, here is their list:

#3 Nissan Frontier
#4 Ford Escape / Mercury Mariner
#5 Toyota Yaris
#6 Hyundai Accent
#7 Toyota Matrix / Pontiac Vibe
#8 Kia Rio
#9 Cheverolet Aveo
#10 Suzuki Reno
#11 Ford Focus
#12 Jeep Liberty
#13 Dodge Dakota
#14 Cheverloet Cobalt
#15 Nissan Xterra
#16 Saturn Ion

And the final spot goes to ... Mazda 3

P.S. - As an asside the article shared another bit of information. The Nissan 350Z is the one of the most dangerous sports cars. Not because of any design flaws, but the driver of the 350Z tends to be younger, a less experienced driver and more of a risk taker. They have a death rate double that of the average sports car.

I think the Nissan 240sx should be on there, I had two of them, although one was for the track, one was my daily driver that I sold just before I got my TL.

Although I'm thinking of getting another one for the track though lol

The primary concern with the Cobalt is the side impact. While side curtain air bags are optional, most do not have them. So the answer is don't have an accident, but if you do, make it frontal.

On a positive note, the Cobalt scored well in accident avoidence. (My Mom taught me to always say something nice about everything.)
