The CSX TYPE-S has the same motor as the Honda SI which is the K20Z3 so there are numerous options for SRI and CAI.

Unfortunately the CSX Premium,Touring and in 08 the CSX Tech Package all have the K20Z2.I know many people that have tried the SRI and CAI on their K20Z2 but for some reason possibly due to the MAP sensor in the intake the engine will throw a CEL.

If anyone knows of a solution or has tried either with success please let me know.

Well it has been done.:)

Thanks to a few people, they decided to come up with their own intake for the 155hp K20Z2 engine.

Mike(iluvmycsx) was the first to give it a shot and is happy to report that he has driven over 1000km and no CEL.

So what they did was take the OEM air box cover and cut off the part that has the MAF sensor in it and then attached a cone filter and that was it.

I am a big fan of K&N air intake systems. I had them of all three of my previous NSX's and appreciate that I can clean it myself without having to buy the OEM filters, susposedly it adds a few horses plus I like the sound it makes.

When I purchased my current 2000 NSX I was told that there is no K&N for the 3.2 engine and if I used the one that works for older NSX's it will potentially do harm.

Does anyone happen to know if this is true or if a similiar air box will work? I do miss that sound, although the Borla exhaust helps compensate.

I have a drop in K&N filter in my car and have yet to decide if I want to go ahead and put a CAI on.There are a lot of options for the K20Z3 197 hp engine because it is the same as the Honda Civic Si.

The sound is a definite improvement on the K20Z2 and as far as hp's I suppose you do gain a couple.There are dyno results to support this on the civic but I don't believe anyone with a CSX has proven HP gain.

Hey Randy,
I just listened to the sound clips of the CSX with aftermarket air intake and the sound is amazing. Who would have thought that a four cylinder engine could sound so good. It's probably worth the price just for the sound alone. I have a question though. Would the placement of the air intake work better if it was placed at the front of the engine where there is fresh, cool air entering instead of at the back where it is sucking in hot air coming off the engine? I was always told that engines make more hp with cool air because it's denser. What are your thoughts on that?

That is one cool sound! My daughter had a sweet F355 Berlinetta with an F1 exhaust. If I close my eyes it sounds a little like it...not all the way mind you, but close.

Hey Scott,unfortuneatly the way the engine is designed that is the only real spot to put a CAI.So yes the colder the better but thats about the best location.
