My 1997 Acura TL is overheating. This happens whenever I apply the brake. Any suggession as to why this is happening. Do I need to change the complete engine::confused:

I don't understand. How can it overheat when you apply the brakes. Do you mean it overheats as you slow down, but is fine running down the highway??? Please clarify and we will try to help.

.....Or does the gauge peg to hot when you press the brake. That would indicate some electrical problem rather than an overheating problem.

I would think electrical or if overheating when stopped or going slow the fan motor may be out.

Interesting, we need more info! We can help you but we need to know more details on the problem, when does it happen? Is the AC on or off when it happens? If the car is running cool on the highway, that tells us a lot.
