at Cerritos Acura here in California, so i took my car in and for some noises and rattles. My warranty is expired but io still have about 2 yrs and 24,000 miles on my extended warranty. So i took it in at 7 am when they opened and rushed to work. They call me toward the end of the day and tell me that my warranty has expired and they have done nothing to the car. So..im like and you are barely calling me now? and i informed them of the extended warranty, they said they had no proof of it and that i had to take in my contract, i got out of work early and took it to them they took the car back in, quickly found the problems and called them in to the insurance, nothing is covered! and i paid for bumper to bumper inside/out and it states even minor things inside are covered,,conveniently for them, none of my parts were covered except the power steering parts that cost $98 and i have a $100 deductible. i was very unhappy.

as for the noise coming from the tire, they said they would have the car apart and find out the proble, see if the part was covered, and if it wasnt they would charge me for taking it apart and putting it back together starting at 200 dollars depending on how much work they did, so pretty much, if the part they found defective wasnt covered, i would get charged $200 for them finding out what it was..i think this isnt fair, i aid for my warranty and they are being jerks about it..im very disappointed in Acura right now..i really am.

As I understand the wonderful world of warranties, there are many companies that sell them, and obviously some better than others. I have read that many fradulent companies offer warranties with no intention of honoring a problem situation. They will find a loophole in your claim to justify disallowing it.

I also have been told by an Acura dealer here in Atlanta that Acura no longer is actively involved with their warranty program, but rather it has been fully outsourced to a third party. Acura of course performs the work, but dealings are between you the owner and the actual warranty firm.

I have an extended warranty bought from Acura on my 2000 NSX and have used it once with success. There was a transmission situation and the warranty work went smoothly and saved me money.

So I guess the first question is who is your warranty company, and is it one endorsed by Acura? I hope that the dealer is be more understanding and accommodating in trying to help you.

We have several Acura dealer members on the site and they will have more accurate information for us.

I am hopeful that the situation can be resolved with minimal cost and fruatration.
