Guys,
I am just starting to finish out my garage into a shop and have been thinking about connecting a false dormer window as a sky light. Anyone out there with advice on how to do it.
I am thinking that if I doubled the joist on the sides, tied those into the adjoining joist, the tied vertical beams into the roof joists and beams, I could easily cut the garage roof joist out and make a great sky-light that would really lighten up the work area.
What do you think?
