I recently spent a week in Las Vegas - don't ask if I lost money - and one night was walking down the strip. There is a prominent auto rental company specializing in exotic cars to rent located right on the strip. Among the cars was an F355 Ferrari (my daughter and her husband had one of these and I really enjoyed driving it), a Lotus Elise (we both had one of these for a while and frankly it was more fun to drive than the F355, but not quite as exotic in nature), a Viper and a Prowler -O.K., perhaps the Prowler is pushing the term "exotic".
I was thinking what if cars had feelings? If so, these vehicles had to feel like discarded tramps being parked on the strip trying to seduce someone in to rent them. I can see the Ferrari thinking - of all the places for me to be sold to I get a sleezy rental company! The place was closed so I don't know the going rates, but I can guess it is not cheap. Tha't one redeaming factor for the rental exotic. -Mike S. |

$100 Per Hour For A Ferrari - What A Deal!
I checked a couple of sites for the rates on exotic cars an of course they vary a bit, but generally run for 5 hours about:
* F355 @ $500 * Viper @ $270 * Lambo Gallardo @ $875 There are extras, like custom insurance, etc. but not as bad as I expected. -Mike S. |
